Group programmes

Movement for Change group programmes are designed to build the skills and confidence to thrive at work while creating change sustainably, avoiding the risk of burnout.

Training sessions mix deep and light work with a dynamic mix of reflection, knowledge sharing, group discussion and movement practice.

“I am more aware of my own reaction to things, my own emotions and when I get fired up about things. It has given me some tools to be more honest with myself about what is going on.”

How does it work?

You can choose a half-day or a full day workshop in person or over Zoom, as well as an 8-week online programme, Strengthening the Core. I usually work by joining an organisation or network to provide these sessions in collaboration, with occasional opportunities to join an open programme directly, as an individual.

Day or half-day workshops

* Five ways of looking at anger (full day)

* How to have a good fight (half day)

* Boundaries for nice people (half day)

* Making work a place for thriving (half day)

Bespoke workshops are also available. If you have an idea for a new one, please get in touch!

8 week Strengthening the Core Programme

Strengthening the Core combines many of these ideas and practices into one integrated learning journey, with sessions combining movement, reflection and group discussion.

Each week covers a different theme, with themes weaving together over the course of the eight weeks. The programme has been running since early 2019.

An external evaluation in 2020 showed that it successfully built people’s skills and reduced the risk of exhaustion and overwhelm.

Past groups have included charity chief executives, people in their first management roles, women’s refuge workers and people in community health projects, including two interactions specially for arts + culture professionals, in partnership with Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy.

“In weeks when I felt there was no time – this was by far the best use of my time.  Milla created a calm supportive space where we explored valuable techniques and shared ideas that we could continue to implement in our home and work life.  A wonderful opportunity to take a breath and reflect.”
